Where I learned that I’m funny… in a German way.
After I left Deliveroo in 2019, I joined new luxury agency Keko London. Quickly, I found I had a real affinity for Porsche - one of their biggest UK clients.
Porsche has to be one of the coolest sports car brands on the planet. I loved writing copy on this account.
I worked on integrated campaigns in the UK, creating assets for DOOH and OOH, programmatic ads, Instagram, PPC and print. Great times.
GTS launch OOH
Porsche were keen to push the new GTS range through seasonal moments throughout the year. We needed lines that worked for the creative & the time of year.
The Porsche TOV features a “knowing humour” that usually plays out over two snappy sentences. The second one normally adds another level to the first.
So for Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day, this is what we came up with.
DOOH @ Euston
The campaign also required video for placements in Euston station in London, using the same lines & a video provided by the global team.
By cutting the lines into four parts and interspersing them through footage of the car looking extremely sexy, we had a Valentine’s day video.
Cayenne Coupé launch
The Cayenne Coupé perfectly encapsulates the Porsche way of being – the car makes no sense at all. It’s a huge SUV and it goes like lightning. What kind of outdoorsy family needs to outrun the police?
For the launch, we needed that classic Porsche two-hander line. Something that spoke to the raw power of the engine and the muscular aesthetic of the car.
Once again, I think we got there.
E-Performance excellence
Porsche have gone all-in on electric. They built a multi billion (with a b) euro factory in Stuttgart so they could close the gap on Tesla and produce top shelf electric sports cars.
We worked on the launch of the E-Performance range, taking some pre-approved lines from the global team and adding a few flourishes of our own.
The campaign went out in print & digital ad placements. E-asy work.
Historic ads for Instagram
Old Porsche print ads are the stuff of legend: they used to have a lot of fun with these. Porsche UK shared these old creatives with us and asked us to come up with something: and we did. After we had sifted through the really sexist ones (not a joke – it was a different time) we found a few that we could juxtapose with new creatives boasting new cars, but the same message.
The air conditioning one is definitely my favourite.
The Easter Engine Hunt
Obviously this would be more impressive with sound, but anyway! We were tasked with finding a use for some engine sound clips provided by Porsche global around Easter.
So we thought: why not test how well our fans know their favourite sports cars? This fun interactive quiz went out on Instagram stories, delighting Porsche GB followers and giving us a big engagement boost for the holiday period.
